Mid-weekend Monday
November 1, 2004
First up, Saturday night wasn’t too bad. Jimeoin and Bob were great and it is always fun to be able to sit back and have a good hard bitch about the passing race fashion. Things seem to be ok with H, although we did finish up on Sunday pretty quickly as we were both feeling pretty ordinary after what must have been a dodgy breakfast. She is off on the road trip this week, so it could be interesting to see what phone calls and messages will be coming in soon.
Speaking of phone calls, I took a dodgy call on my mobile last night from someone in a language I couldn’t catch. I’m assuming it was H at her African night, but it was weird when they continued to try to call back afterwards. Bizarre.
E, G, L and K are heading to the Melbourne Cup tomorrow. I decided not to go, mainly because I can’t really afford to (gambling not withstanding), but also because the forecast is for rain in the morning and then dumping down just when the Cup is meant to be run. A packed, drunk flemington ankle deep in mud is not my best idea of a fun day. And Er isn’t going (I don’t think), so I’ll have a decent day at home, champagne with the girls in the morning, TAB in the afternoon and then beer watching the race on TV.
Good luck, hope you back a winner!
