Update

February 23, 2005

Another update dump:

Went to the footy on Friday night and knew I was in for something special when Leon Davis climbed up Matty Richardson to take a mark in the first couple of minutes of the match. Turned out to be a brilliant game and we got up by seven points in the end. After the game, I went back in to the city to catch up with a group from work and hit Cookie, Moo and Murmer. Didn’t think all that much of Moo, but Murmer is the archetypal Melbourne city bar. Down an alley of a lane, unmarked doorway and upstairs; I can’t wait to take someone else there.

Saturday was H’s birthday and started a bit rocky. H’s sister gave birth that morning, meaning H’s birthday wasn’t just hers anymore. Probably not a major concern to most people, but she takes these things pretty seriously. Anyhow, it was all good by the evening and we headed to St Kilda for a meal and drinks and stuff, including dodge’em cars at Luna Park. Wasn’t a bad night, although I wasn’t totally into the swing of things at any stage. S also turned up and that was alsways going to be uneasy.

Caught up to mum and dad on Sunday at Mecca Bah at the Docklands. Spent all afternoon there and had a great lunch. It was good to see them and J again. Heading home to A this weekend to catch up with them again, poker night on Friday at the South Store and A Day On The Green on Saturday with Pete Murray and the Waifs, which should be brilliant.

I’m also going to sign up for a beginner Japanese course at CAE this afternoon. Should be fun, and if I can convince work of the relevance to my job (given that all my contacts are actually Japanese, I don’t think this should be too hard) they will cover half the cost. Nice. maybe I should check with Prosti for some tips…
