Bonez and Stan arrested

It looks like the graffiti scene in Melbourne has lost at least two of its most prolific members, Bonez and Stan. I’m not a big fan of graffiti, particularly when it’s just tagging, but these guys are unbelievable. I don’t think I have seen a suburb in Melbourne that hasn’t borne the 70k tags. One of the first things I saw when I was up in Sydney was a big Bonez tag written across a run down storefront. It’s not just the sheer amount of work either, some of the tags have been in the most amazing places – tops of buildings, billboards, overpasses. Some have been massive too, going on the train from Southern Cross to Flinders Street you can spot some big tags on the tops of buildings.
So anyway, it looks like Melbourne’s big ‘crackdown’ has caught some big fish. As good as it is for them, it’s slightly disappointing from a viewers perspective.

These guys are just doing what they do, Graffiti is not a reason to go to jail for...its pointless vandalism that can be cleaned off anyway. 70k have got to be respected in the 'graph' world. And for the people who think they are just taggers, maybe you should look around for wat some pieces say, "STAN" "BONEZ" "RENKS" "GEEK" etc...

    I was on my way from melbourne airport when i first noticed the huge "stanley bonez" gaff. also on my train ride to the city i saw the same tag. but i wouldnt call it a tag. i looked closer and it looks to be painted with a brush. not a spray can.
    i later saw in sydney the same tag. these guys get around.
