Online honesty
April 23, 2006
I mentioned that Zazz! had gone online a while back, but something else has grabbed my attention about this site: honesty. The copywriter for the site doesn’t seem to have too much of a concern about calling a spade a bloody shovel. A couple of days ago, they were selling a 10 pack of Lazer blank DVDs for about 10 bucks. Everybody on the comments called shit brand, shit price. So did Zazz!:
Well I think we totally missed the mark on this one. But that should have been pretty obvious from how poorly it sold.
It seems as though there were two things wrong with the DVD pack – one, it was a “crap” brand (I don’t really care about brand personally, but you all seem to) and two, it was too expensive (which is probably true). And it doesn’t take a genius to work out that if the general populus thinks you have a crap price for a crap product, no one will buy it.
And that’s cool…
They may lose points for an ordinary deal, but more than make them up for admitting the flop.
