The Gingers

Caught The Gingers at the Tote in Collingwood tonight and they were awesome! They’re three Melbourne chicks (stunner front woman/bassist with a bucket of stage presence already; punked-out guitarist who holds the whole thing together; and a platinum screamer who positively dances up the back on the drums) and they’ve been attracting a bit of attention around town lately. The girls are smokin’ and the music is fast, loud and damn catchy, but still unpolished enough to be a whole lot of fun. Oh yeah, there’s plenty of cowbell too. They are just about the head up to Sydney for a mini tour, but if you get the chance, make sure you catch them when they are back in town. I reckon that we’ve only just started to hear from these guys…

The EP (Love You Long Time) will be out in a month, but you can find them at Illicit Records, and also at MySpace. If you think the tracks on these sites are good, it’s not a patch on seeing them live, trust me.
