Nintendo Wii demo at Melbourne Central
November 8, 2006
I ducked down to Melbourne Central at lunch today to check out the new Wii console. There was a demo station of about five set up and people could have a shot at a couple of titles, Wii Sports of course, Zelda and a simple driving one. I had a quick game of tennis against another guy and it’s pretty cool. Very simple gameplay, all you have to do is swing the controller to hit the ball as your little guys do all the running themselves, but even that was quite fun. The console looks good and while the wii-mote was a little bigger than I had expected it was easy to use. The sensor bar is also fairly small and unobtrusive, which is a relief, as I though it may have been a bit of an eyesore. All up, I’m pretty tempted, particularly if the lineup of titles coming out will be any good. I think it’s going to be available on the 21st of November.
