Nokia Mobile Web Server

Wow, now this is what I mean when I talk about phones interacting with the internet. Nokia’s Mobile Web Server is in beta, but it looks amazing, and a bit scary. It basically turns your phone into a web server, where you can host a blog and access your phone’s features and contents from a web interface. You can even have the phone take a photo remotely, that’s a little bit unsettling…
I won’t go into to much detail, but you definately need to check this out if you have a compatible phone. I just got a new e65, so I’m still having fun setting things up.

Hi Jukka. I think it’s pretty cool actually, but I feel its uses are quite limited due to data cost and battery life, unfortunately.
There’s no way I could leave this running when roaming, as I would have to pay a fortune to my provider. That’s not a problem when I get home and back to my WLAN, but that drains battery like anything so isn’t much of an option either.
Therefore, I’d still lean towards a s60 program that would let me moblog to a hosted website, rather than host one on the phone itself.
I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on the Nokia Web Server site though, it seems there’s a few great things coming out of the Beta Labs at the moment.
